Passionate Plant People, Rooted in NY

At NY Horticulture Group, we’re all about bringing beautiful green spaces to life for commercial properties and residents. Whether it’s a cozy rooftop retreat, a lush garden terrace, or a sprawling commercial landscape, we love what we do—and it shows in our work.

We got our start back in July 1992 as Let It Grow, designing and maintaining landscapes all over NYC and Long Island. Our projects have ranged from charming little 400-square-foot loft gardens to massive malls covering over 2 million square feet. In 2017, we rebranded as NY Horticulture Group, but our passion for plants and dedication to detail have stayed the same.

Our team is a close-knit group of plant lovers who take pride in making outdoor spaces look their absolute best. We offer a full range of services, including:

  • Landscape Design – Creating custom landscapes that are as beautiful as they are functional.

  • Rooftop & Terrace Design – Transforming city spaces into lush green retreats.

  • Garden Maintenance – Keeping your plants happy, healthy, and thriving year-round.

  • Seasonal Services – Refreshing your space with seasonal touches to keep things looking fresh.

  • Irrigation Services – Setting up smart watering systems so your plants get exactly what they need.

  • Synthetic Grass Installation – A low-maintenance, high-quality alternative to natural grass.

  • Holiday Decor – Adding a festive touch to your home or business during the holidays.

  • Outdoor Staging — Elevate your NYC listings with expert outdoor staging—plants, planters, and furniture that captivate buyers.

We keep things simple: "Do the work and pay lots of attention to the details." That’s our motto, and it guides everything we do. We’re all about making sure your outdoor spaces look incredible—whether it’s a tiny backyard or a giant corporate plaza.

If you’re ready to bring more greenery into your life, we’d love to help. Let’s create something amazing together!

  • We began our journey in July 1992 under the name Let It Grow, serving clients across New York City and Long Island with a passion for designing lush, vibrant landscapes. Over time, our reputation grew, along with our portfolio — from 400-square-foot rooftop gardens to 2 million-square-foot commercial campuses.

In 2017, we rebranded as NY Horticulture Group to reflect our growth and evolving services, while staying true to our founding principles.

  • We believe in the power of green spaces to transform lives and communities. Our work spans cozy rooftop retreats, elegant terraces, and expansive commercial landscapes—all designed and maintained with purpose, precision, and passion.

Our team genuinely loves what we do, and it shows in every planter, pathway, and palm we place.

  • We’re more than a landscaping company—we’re a tight-knit team of creative, passionate professionals who take pride in our craft. We love what we do, and we bring that energy to every project. It’s not just about planting flowers—it’s about designing moments, making impressions, and building relationships.

  • We’re artists at heart—and every team member brings something special:

    • Ismael, affectionately nicknamed "Edward Scissorhands," is a true master of shrubbery trimming. His precision and artistry are unparalleled, and his talent for garden design adds an exceptional touch to our

    • Denis, our resident Albanian and gentle giant, embodies strength and kindness. His humility, paired with his ability to guide others with respect and fairness, makes him an invaluable member of our team.

    • Kayla is a master gardener whose wealth of knowledge and experience is unmatched. We are incredibly fortunate to have her expertise and dedication.

    • Andrew represents the next generation of leadership. Known within the resident manager community, Andrew is charismatic, professional, and driven. A skilled listener and a motivated individual, he is a fantastic foreman who will undoubtedly guide this company into the future.

    • Juan, a valued member of our team for over 15 years, is known for his unmatched expertise and ingenuity. Fondly referred to as "Superman," there’s no challenge he can’t overcome—whether it’s fixing a problem or creating something extraordinary. His wealth of knowledge and versatility make him indispensable to our success.

Our strength comes from this incredible team—and the passion they bring to every project.

    • Timing matters – Spring and fall are the best times for planting, as cooler soil supports root development. Avoid major installs during peak summer heat.

    • Start with good soil – We often remove old soil and replace it with our custom blend of sand (for drainage), topsoil (for moisture), and compost (for nutrients). Healthy roots start with healthy soil.

  • Urban landscaping in NYC is full of unique challenges. Two of the most common:

    • Limited sunlight – We select shade-tolerant plants that can thrive even in low-light conditions.

    • Rodents – To keep rats from disturbing plant beds, we install steel lath barriers just beneath the soil. This invisible layer keeps pests out without compromising aesthetics.

These proactive measures ensure our landscapes stay beautiful—and intact.

  • One project we’re especially proud of took place at 300 East 93rd Street. After years of scaffolding obscuring the entrance, residents were understandably frustrated with the lack of greenery. Once it came down, we were invited to reimagine the space. The result? A stunning tropical entrance garden that became the talk of the block. The board was thrilled—and so were we!
